Your Choice

It is YOUR vehicle! It is YOUR choice!

If you have any doubts about the information contained on this page, READ YOUR POLICY.

Your insurance policy is actually a legally binding contract and can more accurately be called a “Contract of Insurance”. This document gives you specific rights with regard to collision and damage claims. Some insurance companies tell consumers things that hamper their rights. Basically, if the Contract of Insurance does not explicitly state the insured is entitled to something, they’re not.

It’s YOUR vehicle.

YOU make the payments.

It is titled in YOUR name.

YOU have the right to choose the repair shop you prefer.

As the owner of the vehicle, it is your right to choose where you have collision or accident damage repaired. The insurance company can not tell you where to have it fixed.

You certainly wouldn’t let someone dictate where you buy your groceries, would you ? You wouldn’t let a stranger tell you where to buy jewelry, would you? Why would you allow someone to order you where to have something as valuable as your automobile repaired?

Don’t allow yourself to be bullied into taking your vehicle to a “preferred” or “DRP” shop because the insurance company says to. If they are not fixing the vehicle, and they are not paying for the repairs, why should you let them do the estimate?

You have very specific rights when it comes to filing your claim. Knowing your rights is the first step to making intelligent and informed decisions.
